Le mémoire «HTTP://ROUELIBRE.CLICK» explore les formes du «Leach Pottery Wheel», le tour de potier utilisé par Bernard Leach à St Ives, Angleterre, dès 1940. L’analyse se concentre sur la forme de l’objet, s’appuyant sur des ressources accessibles en libre accès pour comprendre son fonctionnement, des archives aux blogs et forums internet. Cette approche permet d’étudier les représentations prolifiques de cette machine-outil, mettant en lumière la manière dont les savoir-faire traditionnels potiers s’entremêlent avec la créativité des ‘makers’ contemporain. Une seconde partie de la recherche se concentre sur l’utilisation de la maquettes pour saisir la structure du tour. Cette étude ouverte, entre les méthodes traditionnelles et les outils numériques, ouvre des perspectives pour une autonomie technologique potière, fusionnant l’artisanat et la programmation.

This dissertation, entitled "HTTP://ROUELIBRE.CLICK", explores the forms of the Leach Pottery Wheel, the potter's wheel used by Bernard Leach at Leach Pottery in St Ives, England from 1940. The analysis focuses on the shape of the object, using mainly open-access resources. It develops an iconographic corpus to understand the sensitive mechanism through a variety of sources, from archives to contemporary forums. This approach enables us to study the prolific representations of this machine tool, looking at the relationships between creators, their tools and their environment. It highlights the way in which traditional pottery skills intermingle with the creativity of contemporary 'makers'. The second part of the research focuses on the use of scale models to capture the structure of the Leach Pottery Wheel. This open-ended study, combining traditional methods and digital tools, opens up prospects for technological autonomy in pottery, merging craft and programming.
